So that you can joyfully share your life with your dream companion.
Hi, I’m Hilary Lemaster, CPDT-KA®, FDM — and I know how overwhelming it can feel when your dog’s behavior isn’t what you expected.
When I brought home my puppy Spring in 2016, I had big dreams—off-leash adventures, coffee shop outings, maybe even agility one day. I’d worked in vet clinics, raised dogs before, read all the books... I thought I was prepared.
But Spring had other plans. She was smart, full of personality—and she struggled with reactivity, resource guarding, and handling sensitivity. Walks were chaotic, socialization advice backfired, and traditional training approaches left us both more confused. I felt like I was failing her.
That experience changed everything for me.
It led me to pursue answers rooted in empathy, modern behavior science, and real-world results. I became a Certified Pro Dog Trainer & Behavior Geek through Absolute Dogs, earned my CPDT-KA® through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, and became a Family Dog Mediator through Kim Brophey’s L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology course.
Today, I work with families navigating everything from the joys and chaos of puppyhood to the complex needs of dogs with behavior challenges. Whether you’re looking for early guidance with your puppy or you're facing issues like reactivity, fear, or frustration-driven behaviors—I’m here to help.
My approach blends science-backed training, games-based learning, and deep respect for the emotional needs of both dogs and their people. I’m not just a trainer—I’m a behavior translator, a mindset coach, and a cheerleader for every small win.
Spring and I made it through those tough early days—and came out stronger. Now, I help other dog guardians do the same.
If you’re ready to replace confusion and conflict with calm, connection, and confidence, let’s start this journey together.
